Brian & Melody

Last July, Matt and I had the opportunity to do pictures for the wedding reception of a friend of mine from college. Melody and Brian had a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic, and then came back home to have a reception for the rest of their friends and family in Allentown. It was held in the beautiful Hamilton Room of the Allentown Brew Works.

The theme was island beachy, which was appropriate after their destination wedding in the DR. And the dessert table was filled with fun, delicious treats.

But I think my favorites from the day were of the happy couple's first dance.

New Orleans Wedding Weekend

Last May, Matt and I took a nice little 20-hour road trip down to New Orleans to see our friends Nate & Jill get married. We were fortunate enough, through Nate and Jill's connections down there, to be able to stay in the New Orleans YWAM house, which was awesome. The day of the wedding, we had a little time to kill before the ceremony, so we ventured over to the French Quarter, since Matt had never been there before. We had a nice lunch in a huge hotel right along the river, which is where I snapped this shot of my then-fiance :)

These were the lovely flowers on our lunch table...

 ....and around the hotel.

We checked out the street performers in the French Quarter....and this guy was pretty good.

And these were a few of my favorites from the beautiful wedding.

Nissley Vineyard

A year and a half ago, Matt and I decided to take a little visit to Nissley Vineyard. It was a beautiful Fall Sunday afternoon, so we took our time going through the self-guided tour. Here were some of my favorite shots along the tour.

Shawn & Shelby Wedding

After doing Shawn & Shelby's engagement pictures, I had the pleasure of being a second shooter at their wedding in September of 2009. The ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful Hans Herr House, south of Lancaster City. The weather was perfect and so was the wedding :)

They decorated the yard with these festive bows and mason jars filled with candles, which also helped light the path to the reception tent once it got darker out in the evening.
I loved the colors of this wedding :)

It was such a sweet ceremony.

And they pulled off the dip kiss quite well :)

The ring bearer was so cute, I couldn't resist snapping some extra shots of him :)

Beautiful Southern Lancaster County, lit by torches.

Joel & Amy Wedding

In August of 2009, I attended the wedding of Joel & Amy, friends of my husband from their days at Lancaster Bible College. The wedding reception was at Landis Valley Farm Museum, the same place my husband and I had our wedding about a year later. Joel and Amy's beautiful barn reception was part of my inspiration to have our whole wedding in the barn at Landis Valley. Here were just a few shots from the day.

New Orleans

A couple of years ago, I took a trip to New Orleans with a friend so we could cat-sit for her relatives who live there. Yes, you heard correctly, I said cat-sit. All I heard was "vacation with a free place to stay and the opportunity to wander around New Orleans for a week," and I was in. My friend's relatives put us up in their lovely house, and we spent the week exploring the French District, walking up and down Magazine Street, eating delicious pastries from a local french bakery, playing with the crazy kitty, and riding the trolley everywhere we went instead of taking the bus, because it was just so much fun :)

Here was the house we stayed in. I loved all the tall doorways and high ceilings and fireplaces in almost every room!

Here were a few by the French Quarter.

And of course, we can't forget the reason we took this trip in the first place......that cute kitty....

Shelby & Shawn

Almost exactly 2 years ago, I had the privilege of shooting engagement pictures for my friends Shelby and Shawn. It was my first engagement shoot, and I wasn't used to posing people for shots, but they were naturally relaxed, so it turned out to be a ton of fun. Here were a few of my favorites from the day.
