The Long Overdue Return

So I've decided it's about time for me to jump back into the world of photoblogging. Especially because a lot can happen in a year and a half. Over that time, I've been blessed to be able to do a bunch of lovely portrait shoots and also another wedding last Fall, which I'll elaborate on more in a later post. And of course, as the seasons change, I try to capture a little bit of nature's beauty here and there. So over the next several posts, I'll be catching up on the various shoots that I've done over the last year or so, starting with some of my favorite shots from last Spring, which I just love too much to not post about!

John & Kimberly Wedding

A couple months ago, I had the privilege of shooting John & Kimberly's wedding with my wonderful second shooter husband :) I was asked to do the wedding by Kimberly's daughter, a friend of ours. The wedding took place in Lancaster City on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Cruising the Caribbean

The last thing I want by the time March rolls around every year is more snow and cold weather. By then, I'm just itching for warmer temperatures and signs of Spring. Of course, living in the Northeast, I don't usually get my wish very often. However, this year I was fortunate enough to completely escape the frigid March weather and head south for a week of relaxing in the Caribbean on a big Holland America cruise ship. One of my hubby's relatives organized a family cruise, which frankly, is a fantastic idea if you're wondering. And how could it not be totally great? We stopped at 4 different islands, ate tons of delicious food, swam and snorkeled in the clearest blue water I've ever seen, and soaked up a week straight of beautiful sunshine :) It was the best March vacation I've ever had. And coincidentally, it happened to fall right around Matt's and my 6-month wedding anniversary, so it was almost like a second honeymoon! Anyway, here are just a few of my favorite shots from the week. Just looking at them makes me want to go back :)

Dining table flowers.

Plenty of places to kick your feet up and relax.

Beautiful islands.

I've never been on a boat that big before, and I'm pretty sure I would've gotten lost if it weren't for my wonderful navigator husband :)

And we had to get in at least one cute shot of the two of us :)

Brian & Melody

Last July, Matt and I had the opportunity to do pictures for the wedding reception of a friend of mine from college. Melody and Brian had a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic, and then came back home to have a reception for the rest of their friends and family in Allentown. It was held in the beautiful Hamilton Room of the Allentown Brew Works.

The theme was island beachy, which was appropriate after their destination wedding in the DR. And the dessert table was filled with fun, delicious treats.

But I think my favorites from the day were of the happy couple's first dance.
